Qualifications

Dr. Kristin Schnurr graduated from Queens University where she earned an Honours Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences with a special focus in Endocrinology. During her undergraduate years she studied traditional healing in Kenya, completing a thesis examining the viability of integration of traditional healing with western medicine. Upon completion of her degree she accepted an internship with the Canadian Society for International Health in India where she designed and delivered preventative health presentations to local school teachers. While in India she volunteered at Delek Hospital where Ayurvedic Doctors work alongside Western Doctors in a respectful and integrative environment. This experience inspired her to pursue an education in medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto where she graduated as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in 2005.

Through continuing education, Dr. Schnurr regularly updates her skills and knowledge base. Kristin believes in the mind-body connection and has completed clinical training at the Mind-Body Medicine Institute at the Harvard Institute of Medicine. She also has a special interest in the areas of endocrinology (adrenal, thyroid, pituitary, diabetes), digestive health (IBS, Crohn’s, malabsorption, anemia, food sensitivities), nervous system issues (depression, insomnia, anxiety, stress and eating disorders), pediatrics, pre/post natal health and sports medicine.

Kristin is registered and licensed with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC). She is a member of the British Columbia Association of Naturopathic Doctors (BCNA), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors (APND), and the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians (PedANP).
